Unified Brand Experience for WRHN Facilities

Rebranding of the Existing Sites: A Phased Approach to Enhanced Wayfinding

Recognizing the critical importance of clear and consistent communication across all of its existing facilities, WRHN engaged Artellix to develop comprehensive Wayfinding Signage Standards to create an immediate cohesive and intuitive experience for everyone.

Our work began with a thorough analysis of the existing wayfinding experience at the existing sites (previously Grand River Hospital KW and Freeport locations, and St. Mary’s General Hospital) and evaluation of the effectiveness of current signage. This deep understanding allowed us to develop clear and rationalized design standards as WRHN plans for the future development of its new site, located at University of Waterloo campus, ensuring the new system is not only aesthetically consistent but also highly functional.

Best Practices and Guidelines for Seamless Transition

The resulting design standards are meticulously structured to be both scalable and adaptable, incorporating best practices in wayfinding design. This flexibility is crucial for a phased implementation approach, allowing WRHN to strategically roll out the new wayfinding system across the three existing sites.

Focus on the User Experience

This initiative is driven by a shared commitment to significantly enhance the overall experience for everyone who interacts with WRHN’s facilities. By creating a clear, consistent, and easily understandable wayfinding system, our goal is to make navigation within these crucial healthcare environments effortless. This reduces stress for patients and visitors, allowing them to focus on what truly matters: receiving and providing quality care.
